I'm a south Texas boy. Born in Corpus Christi in 1971, and raised north of there on a ranch outside of Mathis, Tx. My influences are many and include Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Paycheck, Gene Watson and Johnny Rodriguez. I started singing in the Texas honky tonks at 14 and would move to Nashville in 1994. I was 22 years old. My struggles with alcohol etc. started when I was a teenager and would continue during the 15 years I spent in Nashville. So yes, there was addiction, multiple marriages and a lot of rough times. But there were also many great times and experiences!! I returned home to Texas back in 2008 and have released 4 albums since then. "If I'd Known Then", produced by Bill Green at BGM Studios in San Antonio in 2009. "Kickin' Down The Doors", produced by Jarrod Birmingham & Billy Jo High at Yellow Dog Studios in Austin in 2012. "Poets, Prophets, Heroes & Friends", produced by Ted Russell Kamp at Station House Studio in Los Angeles, Ca. in 2015. And my most recent project "Back To Nashville", produced by Aaron Rodgers in Nashville in 2019. Today I reside in New Braunfels, Tx., I'm 12 years sober, and after a hiatus from music, I'm back to playing in Texas as well as touring around the rest of the country. And I'm still writing and playing traditional country music, as I always have. And I'm very fortunate to still be around to do it!! I reckon that's all you need to know about me. I hope to see you somewhere out on the road!!! "One Honky Tonk At A Time" R.A.
